How is Pro Theory Useful?
zeroun – ‘How is Protheory Useful?’
What is the value of Pro Theory? Does it make any predictions that are testable?
Pro – ‘Re: How is Pro Theory Useful?’
Good question. I think the value of Pro theory is an understanding of how the universe works at its most fundamental level so in the sense that it explains the universe its value is defined by its explanation. Obviously the value will be different for each individual in turn maybe but the basics are the same.
If by value you mean does Pro theory have any ‘real’ uses I’d have to say that the TOE is the TOE, Pro theory is a TOE purposely and so if you were to value it you’d have to first decide if it’s truly a TOE. Then you’d have to value it according to your results.
All we can really do is to search for the falsity content of the theory and keep challenging people to prove Pro Theory wrong. If you’d like to see testable predictions then just choose any example and try Pro theory. Basically my theory predicts three things, three potentials, ad infinitum so its prediction for everything is the same only in a different form. A rock is ‘different’ to a baseball bat for example but both still have the potentials of up, down, neutral etc. I hope this makes at least a little sense, welcome the the forum.

Pro Theory is useful in this way. When I look at a subject, and I see a neutral and a positive, but no negative, it makes me start looking intently for that third possibility. If I am sure about something, but I see no neutral or negative to balance my perspective, I start to worry that I am not seeing all sides of the situation.
Its perspective I think. 2 people can look at a wave from different directions, 1 sees a wave, 1 sees a flat line, both are right, based on their perspective. The wave is a wave and is not a wave. That both are correct, makes the subject neutral. Maybe.
