The Colour Paradox
AdamMedici – ‘The Colour Paradox’
Imagine if you can, an alien race, living on an alien planet. These aliens look act and think exactly like we humans do. The only difference is that they are colour blind. They have no concept of colour; their brains simply do not have the ability to render it. However; because this alien race is clever they devise a way to figure out about the idea that the world is full of colours. The whole colour-blind world is marvelled by this idea.
Keep in mind that no one has any real clue about colours, or what colour really even means, they just know they exist. Even still these clever people start to categorize colours into groups; and believe it or not they come up with the same colours that we use on Earth! Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, Orange, Purple, and the list goes on and on.
So these colour blind people now find out that they themselves are of a specific colour. So the big question becomes what colour am I? Now all the people on this alien planet scramble for an answer and they all get different solutions.
One group thinks they are yellow while this group calls themselves Blue, and that group Green, and another Red and so on. But as time goes on these groups start to compete against one another for other colour-blind people to join their Colour group. So after a century of wars, and argument there is only a very few number of colour groups left, with each containing large amounts of people.
But still to this day not one of them has any true idea or grasp of what colour really is, let alone what colour they are. They just know that colours exist and they are one of them. Now suppose that you “the earthling” who actually can see colour are by some unexplainable twist of Quantum Mechanics forced into making a quantum leap through Space-Time from your world to the colour-blind world.
My paradox is this: What is the proper response to the people of this world where everyone is fighting over the only thing that you can see? ~ How do you prove you can truly see colour? How do you explain Colour to them? What can you do in order to stop them from fighting? This is my paradox ~Adam Medici.
TriPower – ‘Re: The Colour Paradox’
The problem with your alien race is that they have no physiological ability to ‘see’ colour. To them it is a only a theoretical construct. They are fighting over a theory. They are not capable of witnessing the truth about colour no matter what ‘proof’ is given. Just like religion it would require ‘faith and belief” to persuade them of your truth about colour. We can do nothing to stop them fighting – only the fighters themselves can do that. What we share with these colour-blind aliens is a propensity for conflict…no matter what that conflict is about.

Brilliant. You are absolutely right ~Adam.
